Happy Yule
Well, we made it to the end of 2018. While it hasn’t been as productive secularly, personally I’ve grown quite a bit. Of course, we never stop growing and improving as humans (at least I hope so) so I still have a long way to go before I figure everything out–if that’s even possible.
Among the things that I’ve learned this year is that our true friends will stick around no matter what and family is more important than anything.
I’ve also learned to not be so hard on myself. I’ve made mistakes like every human but I learn and strive to do better. That’s all we can strive for. Also, not to worry about the things that I cannot change. No amount of studying will suddenly make me efficient at math, give me the ability to finally memorize how to spell all of the words in the English language, or suddenly give me the metabolism of a professional athlete. And….I’m okay with that.
I’ve learned that even though our time on this Earth is finite, we aren’t in some race to get or be the most. It’s all about the journey and truly experiencing the fun, love, joy, and yes, even the pain, along the way. Always be true to yourself, never try to force yourself into something you’re not. The emotional and physical toll is just not worth it.
I had hoped to have a few more books out this year and perhaps have a popular blog up and running by now but I took the year to do some soul searching and personal growth. I’ve come to realize that caring for your mental, emotional and spiritual health is as important, if not more important than taking care of yourself physically.
As 2018 comes to an end and the Wheel of the Year grinds through another Solstice I find that I’m happy with my progress this year and I’m grateful for what I’ve learned and experienced.
My mind has turned towards my publishing schedule for 2019 and I’m planning on publishing several books next year. Including that sci-fi fantasy series tentatively called The Sisters of Vynii. I’m also kicking around the idea of publishing a memoir and I’m still planning on starting a blog and a YouTube channel. We’ll see where this exciting new year will take me!
I hope you all have the most wonderful holiday season. Stop to enjoy your family and friends and always be grateful for what you have.
I’ll see you all in 2019!!!
